Transparency is one of our core values, so we want to be direct about this. The $150 reservation fee exists for two reasons. First, it ensures that every patient who walks through our doors is genuinely committed to their skin journey. A no-show or last-minute cancellation takes away an appointment that another patient needed. Second, your $150 is not lost — it is fully credited toward your evaluation or treatment session within 30 days. You are not paying to book. You are securing your spot and your investment in your own skin.

Your satisfaction and your skin's progress are our priority. If you feel your results are not meeting your expectations, we will schedule a complimentary skin re-evaluation to reassess your pigmentation, review your protocol, and adjust your treatment plan accordingly. Hyperpigmentation management is a process, and our commitment to your clarity does not end after one treatment session.

In some cases, yes — and we want you to understand why. When treating hyperpigmentation, the skin can occasionally respond with a temporary increase in pigmentation known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or PIH. This is a biological response to stimulation and is more common in melanin-rich skin tones. It is not a sign that the treatment has failed. At MELAUNO, our protocols are specifically designed to minimize this risk by treating progressively and respectfully, never aggressively.

Yes. Sensitive skin is something we work with regularly, especially in patients with melanin-rich skin tones where reactivity is more common. Your evaluation is designed specifically to identify your skin's sensitivities, triggers, and tolerance level before any treatment begins. Every protocol is built around what your skin can safely respond to — never pushed beyond it.

At MELAUNO, your aesthetic professional selects and designs your protocol based on your skin evaluation, pigmentation type, and how your skin responds over time. We do not offer a treatment menu to choose from. This is intentional. The most effective results come from clinical expertise, not patient selection. You share your goals. We build the plan.

Every patient is different, and hyperpigmentation does not follow a fixed timeline. The number of treatment sessions depends on your pigmentation type, depth, skin tone, lifestyle, and consistency with homecare. During your evaluation, your aesthetic professional will give you a realistic picture of what your journey may look like.

Absolutely. MELAUNO was built with a deep expertise in ethnic and melanin-rich skin, where hyperpigmentation is more common, more persistent, and often undertreated. Every protocol is designed with your specific skin tone and pigmentation behavior in mind. You will never receive a treatment designed for a different skin type.

We ask that all cancellations or rescheduling requests be made at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer your appointment to another patient. No-shows and cancellations without 24 hours notice forfeit the $150 reservation fee. We respect your time and ask for the same in return.

Yes. Gift cards can be applied toward any treatment session or retail skincare purchase. They are available in $150 and $350 denominations and have no expiration date.
